The Cal Poly women’s team enjoyed the tour of a lifetime when they visited Scotland in July 2022. Their tour, arranged by College Links Golf, incorporated 18 holes at Turnberry (Ailsa), North Berwick, Archerfield (Fidra) and Gullane (No2).
The Mustangs played a friendly match against a University of Stirling team at Gleneagles (Queens) and played nine holes at Old Musselburgh links using hickory clubs. The two-center tour, which was based in Edinburgh and Dunblane in central Scotland, also encompassed two days’ attendance at the 150th Men’s British Open and visits to Stirling and Edinburgh Castle.
Raleigh Gowrie, Director of College Links Golf, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to host the Cal Poly women’s team on their tour of Scotland, they were a credit to their team and their college. It was terrific to see how much enjoyment they got from playing golf in Scottish conditions and the match with the University of Stirling team was a particular highlight.”
