Spring in St Andrews
A pilgrimage to St Andrews is a special event in any golfer’s life. It’s a chance to connect with the game’s roots and experience great links golf in a unique setting. Nowhere on earth lives and breaths the game like the Home of Golf.
The Old Course may understandably hog the limelight but the neighbouring New and Jubilee Courses have a charm of their own. The challenging Castle Course, strung along towering cliffs on the outskirts of town, is a welcome recent addition to the St Andrews Links roster.
Arguably the best thing of all about golf in St Andrews, however, is its accessibility to visitors. The St Andrews Links Trust, which owns and operates the four layouts mentioned above, is committed to making their courses available to golfers from all walks of life – many Old Course rounds are still allocated by a daily ballot. And while visiting St Andrews in high summer commands premium prices, coming to this corner of Fife to play in the spring months is an absolute bargain.
First the bad news; Scotland in March is not the Bahamas. But Scotland in summer isn’t like the Bahamas, either, and nobody comes just for the weather. And as the townsfolk of St Andrews would say, “A bit of rain never hurt anyone”.
Now the good news; Scotland in March is much, much quieter than in the summer months. Tee times on all the best tracks – including the Old Course – can be guaranteed, if booked far enough in advance. And all at a fraction of the cost of a summer tour.
The tour below incorporates a six-night dinner, bed & breakfast stay at the 4-star Macdonald Rusacks Hotel, situated adjacent to the Old Course, St Andrews. The hotel offers spectacular views of some of golf’s most famous landmarks including the Swilcan Bridge, the 18th hole and the R&A clubhouse.
Additional features of this tour include:
- Six rounds of golf (with lunch inclusive), including tee-times at the Old Course.
- A competitive match against the University of Stirling, the European Universities’ champions at the fabulous Fairmont St Andrews resort.
- Airport and ground transfers.
Prices for our St Andrews Spring Break tour start at just £2,100/$2,730 per person*, based on a party of eight touring golfers. We’d love to make this tour happen for team – click here to get in touch
